Sung Hoon Yang is a Vice President at Samsung Ventures America.
He joined Samsung Ventures America Menlo Park office at April in 2018, prior to moving to Menlo Park office, he worked at Samsung Ventures head quarter in Seoul Korea for 7 years. He has invested in globally more than 20 startups developing semiconductor manufacturing technologies of materials, equipment, software, and new memory, etc.
Before joining Samsung Ventures, Sung Hoon worked at Samsung Electronics Display Division for 6 years as an R&D engineer where he led various projects for future display technologies with utilizing computer simulation methodologies.
Sung Hoon earned his Ph.D. in materials science and engineering by computational study on the molecular behaviors of organic materials at Seoul National University. He holds master degree and B.S. in materials science from the same school.

Michael Pachos is a Managing Director and the Head of Samsung Ventures America, East Coast.
He joined Samsung in 2008 as part of the Global Strategy Group in the Chairman's Office. Michael then joined Samsung Ventures in 2009. Michael transferred from Seoul to Silicon Valley in 2013.
Prior to Wharton, Michael co-founded the network security startup Global Velocity. Michael also was a CPU architect on several DEC Alpha and Intel Itanium processors.
Michael has an MBA from Wharton and a BS in Computer Engineering from WashU. In his spare time Michael enjoys sailing and visiting his hometown of NYC and adopted hometown of Seoul.

Thomas Jueng is a Managing Director at Samsung Ventures America.
He joined Samsung Ventures in 2012 and focuses on investments in mobile platform, AI, IoT, digital media & content, and enterprise solution.
Prior to joining Samsung Ventures, Thomas worked in Benex investment, a private equity in Korea.
Before Benex investment, he worked at SK Telecom in global strategy planning team and investment team. Thomas led deals in the US, China, Vietnam, and Korea mainly focusing on mobile and internet.
Before SK Telecom, Thomas worked at a RF repeater system company, MTI Co., Ltd. as a RF, S/W engineer. Thomas also co-founded two start-ups, a social network service website, win520.com in Beijing, China, and an outdoor digital signage company, Intercity Networks in Korea and he was an early member of Chinese mobile device company, Xiaomi.
Thomas earned his M.B.A. at the Wharton School and received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University.

Jihong Kim is a Managing Director at Samsung Ventures America.
He joined SVA in 2012 and focuses on mobile, digital media, software and services companies. His most recent exits include Centrify (acquired by Thoma Bravo).
Prior to joining Samsung Ventures, Jihong worked at a global long short equity fund as a research analyst (SFG), in investment banking (HSBC, JMP) as well as in management consulting (PwC). He started his career as a software engineer at Lucent Technologies and had also worked as an early member of start-ups at nDosa and CommASIC (acquired by Freescale).
Jihong received an MBA as well as B.S. in EECS from the University of California at Berkeley.

Nova Choe is a Manager at Samsung Ventures America, in charge of operations and portfolio management.
She joined SVA in March 2010 to support America office operations. As Operations Manager, she is responsible for all aspects of SVA including post-investment portfolio management, controlling America's office budget, project management, portfolio database & system administration and HR.
Prior to SVA, she worked at Samsung Data Systems America as a payroll assistant in HR department.
Nova earned dual B.A. degrees in Music Performance (Trombone) and Japanese Language from the University of California, Davis.

Liam Ahn is a Principal at Samsung Ventures America.
He is responsible for developing Samsung Ventures’ investment theses and identifying investment opportunities in all areas.
Prior to Samsung Ventures, Liam worked at MindMeld (acquired by Cisco), a conversational AI startup creating the next generation of chat and voice assistants. Liam started his career at Samsung Electronics HQ, where he managed Fortune 500 global accounts and also operated Samsung Electronics UK’s B2B business.
Liam grew up in London and moved to Korea to get his B.A. in business administration at Seoul National University

Sea Won Song is an Associate at Samsung Ventures America.
She supports the operations manager to ensure the America offices operation.
Prior joining SVA, She also worked at YouTube as language specialist and Google as Content specialist.

Won is a Principal at Samsung Ventures America.
He joined SVA in 2018, focuses on high tech startups such as semiconductor, materials, bio, and fintech.
Prior to joining Samsung Ventures, Won worked at Samsung Semiconductor R&D center as an engineer and at Blizzard eSports team as the first MBAintern. He wrote the Op-Ed “Make Video Games Safe” for the New York Times.
Won received an MBA from Stanford GSB and BS in Chemical and Biological Engineering from Seoul National University.

Ji Hoon joined Samsung Ventures in 2019, and focuses on investments in Fintech, Insurtech and Digital Health industry.
Before Samsung Ventures, he worked at Moon Capital in New York by covering global TMT, Consumers, and Financials for public/private equities.
Before Moon Capital, he oversaw growth equity portfolios as a generalist in Industrial Bank ofKorea Asset Management. Before that, he managed small-cap and IPO equities in Woori Asset Management.
Previously, he covered Tech, Auto, and Healthcare sector in Woori Credit Suisse Asset Management. He earned his MBA degree from Kellogg School of Managementat Northwestern University, and a BA degree from Korea University.

Min Je Song is a Principal at Samsung Ventures.
He joined Samsung Ventures in 2019, prior to joining, he managed a pre-seed venture capital fund and continues to advise single and multi-family offices on strategictechnology investments globally.
Min Je started his venture capital career at GGV Capital, where he focused on growth-stage enterprise and consumer deals.
Before private market investing, Min Je was a quantitative trader on a foreign exchange trading deskwith a focus on market-making. Min Je holds a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Nanotechnology Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

Snehal is the head of Samsung Ventures India.
He brings over 18 years of Technology & biz development experience in Consumer Electronics and Defence Industry. He initially joined Samsung R&D in 2005 and has undertaken variety of roles in Technology & Product planning, Open Innovation, and Technology Incubation & IP Management.
Amongst his many endeavours, Snehal was instrumental in leading DTV roll out and adoption in Asia Pacific & MENA regions. He directly led Broadcast standardization discussions with many government standard bodies (Singapore, Australia, India). Snehal was instrumental in Samsung's “Make for India” initiatives for CE Biz and in setting up Samsung India’s Academia collaboration with Top IITs & esteemed research Institutes.
Prior to Samsung, Snehal had engineering experience in Defence Industry for Armament Research & Development Establishment of Ministry of Defence, India. Snehal work involved development of HW & Device Drivers for TI DSP Chipsets, Motorola Power PC, ARM / MIPS Core.
Snehal holds an B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication & has 4 patents to his name.

IkHyun Lim is the Head of Samsung Ventures Japan.
In 2014, He was appointed head of the Japan Branch and have been serving the role ever since, sourcing Japanese venture companies to introduce to Samsung Electronics and its group companies or to have them invested by Samsung. He mainly engage in activities related to sourcing, investment and business tie-ups of various technology ventures such as semiconductors, smartphones, display, battery, AI and other tech items that can be used worldwide at all times.
He joined Samsung Japan in 2004 and have been involved in wireless technology from sales of wireless communication equipment to technical correspondence to major network carriers. While living in Japan for 20 years, He has been aiming to become a bridge between Japan and Korea businesses. He will always do my utmost to contribute to the growth of the Japanese venture industry.

Min-jeong is an assistant investment manager at Samsung Ventures Japan.
In 2011, she joined in a Japan office of Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.
After two years supported in system designing and software development at IT Company in Japan.
She engaged in research and project discovery related to new Japan investments, due diligence and value-up of investment companies.
She is interested in areas related to Samsung such as mobile, platform-business, and On-Device AI, etc.​

Jaeyoung Shin is the Head of Samsung Ventures China.
He joined Samsung Ventures China Beijing office at March in 2014, prior to moving to Beijing office, he worked at Samsung Ventures head quarter in Seoul Korea for more than 4 years. He has invested in semiconductor industry in various countries including US, UK and China.
Prior to joining Samsung Ventures in early 2010, he worked at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Korea from early 2005 and worked as a researcher in Fuel Cell Lab (PEMFC), also has worked as a R&D staff of Fuel Cell Lab(SOFC) at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany
Jaeyoung grew up in Seoul and Singapore, earned Master in mechanical engineering from Aachen University of Applied Science Germany, and attended Shanghai Tongji University China for the same major.

Jingyi (Vanessa) Wang is an Investment Manager at Samsung Ventures China.
She joined Samsung Ventures in 2015.
Prior to joining Samsung Ventures, Vanessa worked in Samsung’s Global Strategy Group in Seoul and mainly involved with projects such as global new product development, mobile growth strategy in China, and partnership strategy with major Chinese internet players. Before Samsung, Vanessa has 5-year working experience in multiple financial sectors from investment banking to private equity investment.
Vanessa is a CFA charterholder. She holds an MBA from INSEAD and completed her BBA at School of Economics and Management in Tsinghua University in China.

Ori Kirshner is the Head of Samsung Ventures Israel.
Prior to Samsung Ventures he was Managing Director and Managing Partner at Giza Venture Capital where he was mostly focused on investments in the areas of communications, software infrastructure, semiconductors, and information technology. Prior to Giza, he was Product Director at Mint and was founder and manager of IBM Microelectronics Israel and managed products and R&D projects within IBM Networking Division. Ori also held senior technical positions at Motorola Semiconductor and worked for Tecnomatix Technologies Ltd. and Cycon, startup companies in robotics and CAD/CAM, where he led R&D teams in the fields of computational geometry and graphics processing.
Ori received an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science, both from Tel Aviv University.

Jong Sang Choi is the Head of Samsung Ventures Europe covering pan-European region out of London office.
Prior to Samsung Ventures he led international Digital Media team of NBCUniversal out of London office to initiate, build and expand its digital media business across international markets. Prior to NBCUniversal he worked at Samsung Semiconductor business as business developer, product manager and engineer in network, security and media product areas.
Jong earned his MBA from London Business School and received M.S. and B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

Kevin Lenehan is a Director in Samsung Ventures Europe based in London office.
He joined Samsung in 2012 working for 6 years in Korea HQ on Strategy and Business Development topics focused on Datacenter, Automotive and IoT markets. Prior to joining Samsung, Kevin was a Management Consultant based in Brussels and an engineer for several global semiconductor companies in France and the UK.
Kevin has a Masters in Physics and Computer Science from Edinburgh University and an MBA from INSEAD.

Ju Won is a Principal at Samsung Ventures Europe based in London.
Ju Won joined Samsung in 2018 and focuses on identifying, evaluating, and executing investments in the Europe region. Prior to this, she was at Channel Four Television in their media for equity ventures team investing in high growth phase companies in sectors ranging from e-commerce and marketplaces to consumer fintech. Ju Won started her career at Goldman Sachs in the TMT (Technology, Media and Telecoms) & Industrials teams, advising clients on M&A and financing processes.
Ju Won is a graduate of the University of Oxford where she earned a First Class master’s degree in Chemistry. Originating from South Korea, she grew up in both Spain and the UK.
